Leading with our values
From day one of this campaign I made a commitment that our shared values would inform everything that we do. That statement has never been more true. I entered this race to ensure every person across our district, across our state, and across our country has the care and compassion they need to succeed. These are the values that drive this campaign today, and the ones that will carry us to victory.
We are also operating in a time of unprecedented uncertainty. Families who have been living paycheck to paycheck now fear being evicted because they cannot pay their rent. Children who rely on their schools for breakfast and lunch may now go hungry. Homebound seniors who rely on friendly visitors for social interaction may now be even further socially isolated.
As a physician, my first commitment is always to the people in my care. In this campaign, my commitment is to you and every resident of the 8th district. Over the coming days and weeks, we will be using our platform to highlight non-profits in the district serving those who are most vulnerable and who could use our support.
Today, I donated to:
Charity Guild, located in Brockton, which provides basic and necessary services to those unable to meet their primary needs of food, clothing, and household goods.
Community Servings, which provides medically tailored, nutritious, scratch-made meals to chronically and critically ill individuals across 21 Massachusetts cities and towns, including Boston, Quincy, Braintree, Weymouth, and Brockton.
Interfaith Social Services, a Quincy-based food pantry that is one of the South Shore's largest.
We will also be working with small businesses across the district who are struggling as a result of this pandemic to amplify their products and services.
If you are able, I hope you will join me to show the strength of our community by supporting these organizations and businesses. A $10 donation will go a long way towards caring for our neighbors.
If there are ways you feel that our campaign can support you, people you know, or businesses throughout the district, please do not hesitate to reach out.
Stay safe,
Robbie
